Pseudo-single

When you’re in a relationship or an “it’s complicated” situation but it feels like you’re single.

They say we’re dating but they’re not being active/acting like we’re together. I feel pseudo-single.

The act of posting excessively to social media in the wake of a recent breakup in order to catch the attention of the ex and/or potential suitors. It also announces one's return to a wider social community.

The posts do not declare one's relationship status, but are instead cryptic--containing hidden meanings, decipherable only to select audiences.

A "thirst trap" is only one of the most general and common examples.

Shawn: Did you see Jeremy's Insta story??
Christine: Yeah, he never posted when he was dating Margot...
Shawn: The death of the couple inaugurates the birth of the individual. He's totally single-posting.
