The act of tearing off the first sheet(s) of toilet paper from the roll (especially in public toilets) to prevent the spread of disease or non-hygienic remnants left over from the last user.

To tear off the leader of toilet paper from the roll in order to prevent disease transmission to the new user's anus and/or genitals.

"Hey Frank, make sure you kill the leader before you wipe. This bathroom's kind of scuzzy, if you know what I mean."
