iPad kid

Refers to toddlers and children who are obsessively attached to iPads or similar handheld digital devices, often given by parents primarily as a means of appeasing their child's shorter attention span.

As a consequence, useful time that could have been spent on hands-on learning and the development of social skills is lost in favor of spending hours watching often very overstimulating or even inappropriate content on the internet, potentially hindering the child's healthy development.

The COVID pandemic especially saw a significant increase in the number of iPad kids.

Sandton Kids

Usually a group of kids born in 2006-2008 that go to Sandton City almost every weekend just to fight other kids, they can be seen wearing: Jordan 4's, Jordan 1's or Air Force 1's; Baggy Pants or Jeans; Trucker Caps; Shirts from Cotton on or H&M.
Sandton kids are also familiarised with blurry pics in which they normally caption "h4rd" on their Instagram posts. They can be heard speaking using register such as: "Luh" "Shoota" "twizzy" "cosy" "gang" "Brody" , "goons" "slatter" "hard" "Cold asf"

James: "Eyy man you heard that a group of Sandton kids were fighting yesterday by KFC?"

Bob: "Yeah bro I heard, apparently they set up fights on WhatsApp group chats and meet at Sandton just to fight and embarass themselves"

Roxy: "Ugh, typical Sandton Kids"
