To needlessly complicate the solution to a problem, resulting in varying degrees of success. Culvinizing a situation can result in a brilliant, straightforward and simple solution. Likewise, it can result in a convoluted, messy duct-tape-and-baling-wire hack that will eventually fail in catastrophic fashion.
