Gless check

Scottish slang for a glass bottle of Irn Bru. 'Gless' referring to glass and 'check' refers to the classic check design on the neck of the bottle.

Up until 2015 the Scottish government would pay 20p per bottle for returning the bottles.

"Want anything fae the shop?"
"Aye, a gless check please".

Hopefully this information will influence a person's decision, but in the situation it doesn't at least one has an idea what they are getting into.
