Pop Punk

A Pretty good type of music that most "Real" punks look down upon just because it doesent live up to Punks standards. And yes, I agree with them. Most pop punk is a pile of shit. But there is alot of really good Pop Punk out there that is Loud, fast, fun and rebelious. But it is basicly just a more melodic and catchier type of punk rock.

Good Pop Punk: Descendents, NOFX, (old) Green Day, Lagwagon, Screeching Weasal, (Old) Blink 182, Ramones, The Offspring, (Old) Mxpx, Rancid, The Buzzcocks, The Sidekicks, etc

Bull Shit Pop punk: Simple Plan, Paramore, Fall out boy, We the Kings, Boys like Girls, (New) Blink 182, New found glory, good charlotte, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, etc

A genre of music pretending to be punk but isnt. A type of "poseur" punk that frequents skater hang-outs and skate parks. For real punk see: Bad Religion

A place where young people meet, on the street, and park with their cars. Then they do some drinking and talk about their cars, POP open the HOOD, and look and other people's shiny engines and cool paint-jobs.

Dude1: I was bored last night so I went to the Hood Pop and met a sexy chick with the best Datsun 120Y I have ever seen. She had a chromed 2 litre turbo in it. Man it was cool.

J-pop

Japanese Pop. Usually a mix between the gerne of Rock, Pop and Techno. It is found to be MUCH better then the American pop. Music and lyrics is mostlty very good, though I gotta admit, some singers suck.
