Fooled by Society Theory

A framework revealing how we mistake social products for natural facts, or cultural constructions for universal truths. Fooled by Society Theory shows how we are socialized into seeing the world in particular ways, then mistake that socialized vision for reality itself. What we take for granted—gender, money, justice, truth—are social products, but we experience them as natural. We are fooled when we forget that society made the world we see, and that other societies see differently.

Any society that: 1. doesn't provide at least 4 months of maternity leave by law; 2. does weird shit to people living in their country; 3. forces women to cover up in the era of air conditioning; 4. permits men to suck baby dicks in the name of hygiene and tradition once running water was invented; 5. has a 0/00 beauty standard for women; 6. worships a man for thousands of years; and 7. has a legal sexual age of consent earlier than 15 years old.

iPad kid society

The moniker given to the country Indonesia as the country with world's highest average screen time — i.e. 6.05 hours per day throughout early 2020's, now 7 hours 38 minutes per day as of 2025. This Indonesian people's screen time is claimed to "rival that of iPad kids", hence the prefix "i-" in this slang term "iPad kid society" (meaning "the society consisting of persons who are addicted to screens") akcually stands for "Indonesia".

With everyone in Indonesia glued to their screens for over 7 hours a day, it's no wonder we call it the iPad kid society.
