Randomidolia

A term coined as the opposite of pareidolia (the tendency to see faces in random patterns). Randomidolia is the tendency to see randomness in faces—to dismiss genuine expressions, meaningful gestures, or significant signals as meaningless noise. Where pareidolia finds faces in clouds, Randomidolia finds clouds in faces: genuine emotion dismissed as random movement, intentional communication reduced to accident, meaningful expression explained away as nothing. It's the bias of those so afraid of seeing meaning where none exists that they fail to see meaning where it does. The Randomidoliac looks at a crying child and sees only facial muscle contractions.

Randomia

The cognitive tendency to perceive randomness, chaos, and meaninglessness even where genuine patterns, structures, or meanings exist. It is the conceptual opposite of apophenia (the tendency to perceive patterns in random noise). Where the apophenic sees faces in clouds and conspiracies in coincidence, the randomic sees only clouds when there are faces, only coincidence when there is conspiracy, only noise when there is signal. It's a form of chronic pattern-blindness that dismisses genuine connections as illusory, real structures as imagined, and meaningful correlations as mere chance. In debates, randomia manifests as the reflexive rejection of any proposed pattern as "just coincidence" without proper investigation. In science, it appears as the refusal to see emerging evidence as meaningful. In life, it's the inability to recognize the patterns that structure our existence—treating everything as random rather than facing the discomfort of meaning.

Example: "Despite a decade of data showing clear trends, his randomia had him convinced it was all just coincidence—he literally couldn't see the pattern right in front of him."

Bag Randomization

A randomization system that selects each element one by one, not re-selecting an element until they've all been selected, wherein this process is restarted. Hence the name, it can be thought of as pulling each element out of a bag at random until the bag is empty, then refilling or replacing the bag with an identical one and repeating the process.

A randomization process named n-bag randomization has n elements (for example, 5-bag randomization has 5 elements, 8-bag has 8 elements, and 14-bag has 14 elements).

Tetris is a famous example of bag randomization. It provides each Tetrimino (piece) once every 7 times.
