Josiah Spode: 1754-1827. British potter. In 1800 he founded a pottery that became famous for its bone china. A trademark used for a brand of fine china and earthenware.
Also a character in a 'Jeeves and Wooster' (P. G. Wodehouse) episode who was a huge bully of a man riding roughshod over Bertie Wooster's life. Spode however, had a secret; Jeeves found out from his connections at the local manservant's club that Spode designed and sold brassieres. One whisper of the 'brand' and Bertie was out of the woods, so to speak.

Due to someone making you angry (ex, friends, parents) you turn off your cell phone, go party, hang out with your buds and doing everything knowing that the person who made you mad, will get angry at your for doing. This hater of yours won't know what you actually are doing, but because you know it'll make them mad, you are happy. Your purpose is just to piss them off behind their backs.

I'm going to spite her/him by sleeping with someone else.

I'm going to spite her/him by not doing my homework.

I'm spiting her/him by staying up all night and getting drunk.

it's a saying to those who live up to what they are being called (like a really caring person or loving father) because no one else has said it before.

for example; I know no truer words were ever spoken but you're a really good friend.

To have communicated with someone via chat. Can also be used in the present tense (though less effectively) as e-speek.

I e-spoke with the client yesterday and he gave the go-ahead.
