An accent that has remained a part of Maine culture. How a mainer can recognize his fellow mainer from all the yuppies... It is a combination of French, English, Scottish, Irish, and a bit of Pollack too. A difficult accent to pick up at first but the colloquialisms tend to stick.

The prostute's customer is a usually known as a John because mostly men use the services of prostutes. Men who service woman in this way are usually refered to as gigolos. Prostutes come in all sexes, shape, sizes and ethnicity.

Slang words for prostitute used in a sentance: I will come visit your cat house (brothel), I want two whores (female prostutes) and a rent boy (male prostitute) ready for me when I get there in 30 minutes.

scangers

Scangers are people usually from disadvantaged or impoverished working class areas of the northside of Dublin city and are also found in similarly poor parts of the mostly affleunt south. In the northside of the city they are commonplace and most youth happen to subscribe to the scanger culture whereby tracksuits (preferably nike) or trackies are worn, as are burberry hats and jewlery (bling) is worn. This on a whole is the cultural dress of the people and is complimented with thick drawlish dublin accents and an in-built expectation to show contempt for the authorities. There is of course exceptions to this and some area of the north are similar to the affleunt south e.g Howth, sutton, clontarf, castleknock, bayside and in these areas the D4 culture is prevelent

One of the whitest, most up-tight, politically correct tags on urban dictionary. Why couldn't they call it something better, like "other words for fuck a bitch"?

I was checking out the definition for brick house and clicked on the tag "human sexuality slang." No definition, I figured I'd add a definition.

This is phrase that is used very often (by me) whenever I see a word or phrase in the Urban Dictionary that I know no-one uses, anywhere, at any time, ever.

I saw "Number Four Year", and "ehaircut" on Urban Dictionary, and my first thought was 'Urban Slang My Arse'.

slang

slang is the continual and ever-changing use and definition of words in informal conversation, often using references as a means of comparison or showing likeness. some modern slang has endured over the decades since its inception (i.e. cool) and some will only last a few years before being rendered obsolete or outdated (i.e. bling bling). slang can be born from any number of situations or ideas (the word slang itself has come to represent selling, especially of illegal drugs), and can be blunt or riddled with metaphor, and often quite profound.

the use of slang is frequently ridiculed by culturally-ignorant people who feel it is the product of insufficient education and believe it to be counter-evolutionary; of course, they couldn't be farther from the truth. human language has been in a state of constant reinvention for centuries, and slang has been used and created by poets and writers of all sorts (William Shakespeare has been credited for the upbringing of at least a couple of words). it is the right and responsibility of the modern human to keep re-evaluating language, to give dead words innovative contemporary meanings or to simply invent new ones, in order to be more appealing and representative to the speaker/listener (which was essentially the basis behind language anyway, to understandably communicate thoughts or ideas verbally).

the use of and constant flux in slang is the only exciting thing happening in language, making present day especially interesting with the wealth of new words and definitions appearing seemingly everywhere. those who speak ill of slang obviously feel threatened or alienated by the evolution of a language they can't control, and all y'all trick ass marks need to stop running ya gums 'fore y'all gets slapped the fuck up...bitches.
