Small-town Syndrome

When someone has lived for so long in a small town that they form a sense of entitlement to themselves and act as if there isn't a relevant world outside of their town.

Someone with small-town syndrome usually is majorly concerned with gossip and events only happening with people in their town and let their life revolve around such meaningless rumors. They act as if life is high school. Parents/Adults and children all engage in cliquey behavior.

People with small-town syndrome usually don't realise they act this way, and may be insulted if pointed out.

People with small-town syndrome may have lots of trouble adjusting to life in the real world (wherever they move to out of the comfort of their family/friends also from same town)

Jeff and Jenny are all about meeting at the local café, (the only one in our town, so it is THE place to hang out and gossip), but the problem with the café is that no one seems to be able to talk about any current events in the world, they all seem to have small-town syndrome.

A person who seems to only function in an idiotic, hyperactive way. You know.... those crazy idiots you meet on the street - yeah that's them, you know... the ones that threaten you with a broken bottle because they're too drunk to pick anything else up ? ... yeah that's who I am talking about. They're the ones who may have invented the word insane... not sure yet, need to do actual research for once.... but you know if you dealt with crazy people throwing their bozo-mc-spaz-a-tron ideas at you you'd call them a bozo-mc-spaz-a-tron I mean am i wrong ?

In response to an incident where said (bozo-mc-spaz-a-tron) tried to stab me because I asked him to remove the shopping cart he left behind my car, blocking me in, and leaving his cell phone inside, I called him and recorded a message....' A RECORDED MESSAGE ' (In Russian Accent) - "Hello, bozo-mc-spaz-a-tron, listen to voice recorded message that I worked so hard on. At least in Russia people RESPECT voice recorded messages... unlike dirty, filthy, Americans." - The Great Wise Crazily Drunken Russian Vodka Master.

Shaky Town

In the world of big rig truckers, Shaky Town is referring to Los Angeles, due to the earthquakes that make the buildings "shake". San Francisco is commonly referred to as the "Gay Bay."

In the song "Convoy" by C.W. McCall (Bill Fries), he refers to the convoy being on I-10 a mile out of Shaky Town. I-10 does not run into SanFran.

a. From an acronym for Chicago, i.e., "Shit-Headed Yahoo Town."

b. A term of derision for a lunatic city that deserves every whit for giving America an unrivaled gaggle of thieves, murderers, perverts, gangsters, hoodlums, thugs, corrupt politicians and assorted societal misfits that boggles the mind.

c. A town teeming with Shit-Headed Yahoos who continually vote for the dregs of themselves to run the government.

d. A term hated by actual SHY Chicagoans who try to redeem their reputation by insisting "SHY" really means "chi" (actually a Chinese word and Greek letter) and insist it is used only by non-Chicagoans (which is generally true).
