Sake

Japanese liquor made from fermented rice. Contrary to popular belief, sake is closer to beer than wine, due to the sugar being produced from starch before converting to alcohol.

Fairly strong at 18–20% alcohol, compared to 9–16% for wine and 3–9% for beer (though generally diluted to about 15% prior to bottling).
