A web programmer that specializes in retreiving passwords and other personal information from people surfing the net by means of spoof websites and keylogging hacks. This is highly illegal and is most prominent on the popular website MySpace.com.

I was trying to look at my friends pictures on myspace, and it asked me to log in again..next thing I know my account started posted bulletins about viagra! Some nerdy phisherman must have hacked the website. I hate being phished!

Phisher

In the field of computer security, phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Communications purporting to be from popular social web sites (YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Windows Live Messenger), auction sites (eBay), online banks (Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase), online payment processors (PayPal), or IT Administrators (Yahoo, ISPs, corporate) are commonly used to lure the unsuspecting. Phishing is typically carried out by e-mail or instant messaging, and it often directs users to enter details at a fake website whose look and feel are almost identical to the legitimate one. Even when using server authentication it requires skill to detect that the website is fake. Phishing is an example of social engineering techniques used to fool users, and exploits the poor usability of current web security technologies. Attempts to deal with the growing number of reported phishing incidents include legislation, user training, public awareness, and technical security measures.

n. A euphemism for the vagina; short for panty oyster it is a portmanteau etymologically derived from panty salmon, however oyster has since replaced salmon. Proponents of panty salmon over panty oyster claim their term is more closely aligned with the female sexual cycle (Women are like salmon, sexually, in that they swim up a stream of sexual consciousness until they reach their peak at around 40 ergo, panty salmon) It should be noted that panty salmon is considered an anachronism and is only permissible in a scholarly context. Some philologists and semiotics expets believe poister is best spoken with a British accent, debate continues.

Phisted

A progressive rock band form Chicago, IL. The band was created in the year 2001 and disbanded in early 2004. Phisted consisted of Lead vocalist/Percussionist: Adam Gehle, Drummer: Albert Tan, Guitarist: Matt O'Dell, Guitarist: Chad Vanko, and Bassist: Neil Pandya. The band recorded two E.P.s: "PHISTED" in 2001 & "TRIAD" in 2002. A third full length release titled "Your Greatest Achievement" was to be released in 2003, but remains unreleased. Rumor is that Hedfone Desine Recordings with release "Your Greatest Achievement" in 2009. There are also rumors that band will reform in 2009 to tour the U.S. in support of the release. After Phisted, Adam Gehle went on to create some of the finest groups on the Chicago scene, a few of which being; The Balance, So She Drops, The Junkyard Division, Adam Gehle Group, The InnerVisionists, Spartan and more.

Were going to see "Phisted" at The Metro tonight. Everyone is going to be there!!!
