The beach is open daily from 6 A.M. to 9 P.M. and is free to residents of Waukegan, Illinois and $20.00 to non-residents of Waukegan, Illinois on weekends. The Waukegan Municipal Beach features one mile of sand along with some of the only remaining natural dunes in the Lake County, Illinois area. Recreational activities include swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and sand volleyball. Also, open sand area gives the opportunity to play beach soccer, beach football, and other sports and activities. There is a concession stand open everyday from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M. There are no lifeguards on duty at this facility and swimming should be done so at your own risk.
