There is now a prevalent effort for NGO’s and other nonprofit organizations to raise money based on fears that have little or no scientific evidence to support there causes. However, these organizations will shamelessly propagate misinformation to create fear, sympathy and anger to promote their causes in an effort to raise money for themselves.
Did you see that NGO showing a picture of a turtle with a plastic bag around it’s neck? When confronted, they admitted to the BBC that it was a photoshopped image and the BBC retracted the story when this was found out.. just another example of a G.A.F.F.E. that is being used in media and on-line
