FMPFU

Stands for "from my potentially flawed understanding". The abbreviation is used over the internet when someone wants to quickly explain something offhand from only their prior knowledge of the subject at the time. Hence, usually the explanation is provided without any thorough checks or referencing.

FMPFU is usually used in response to a question, but not limited to this.
