Their origins hail from Fresno, California. Traces of this gang can also be found in Lowell, Massachusetts and Portland, Oregon. In earlier years the Diamond Crips were known as the Diamond Boyz. It wasn't until a youth from L.A., who was affiliated with the Eastside/East Coast Crips, initiated the merger with his friends from Central California. The numbers 6 and 2 were homage to 62nd street, the members of this gang were responsible for Diamonds becoming Crips and they are affiliated under the East Coast Crip banner.
