cheerleading

While some bitches try to say cheerleading is a sport like Sarah and Kelly they often forget there is no point. The point of cheerleading is to cheer for another team, but now they go and do routines that have no purpose. Therefore they must rename the rutines to a new name because they are not cheering for something else. SO cheerleading also should have good looking girls which is not the case anymore. They have the fat ones lift the skinny ugly ones with fake smiles. So to all the cheerleaders out there please stop it is really gay. and to all the male cheerleaders just die
Cheerleading is really not a sport.

cheerleading

A "sport" where a bunch of sissy, slutty girls prance around trying to make the male population fall in love with them. Unfortunately, honeys, waving pom poms, doing flips, and dancing like a fool on the sidelines of football games aint a sport. Its just cheering for a team mixed with acting like a ho. Oh, and its what girls view as a ticket to popularity. But it isn't that either cuz ive seen plenty of ugly cheerleaders.

one could argue that competetive cheerleading is a sport, and that maybe I would take. But then, you have to count chess, dance, art, and a lot of other things as a sport. The truth is none of them really are sports. Cheerleaders are a bunch of wanna-be athletes.
Cheerleading is foolish crap that wastes the half time show and distracts everybody at games from what they came there for: FOOOTBALLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

cheerleading

Yay! I love the people here saying cheerleading is a sport! (Not!)

Now, It may be demanding to lift 100 pounds with 2,3,4 people, but you ever tried stopping (<---keyword) 200, going fast? No? really? i thought you guys were saying don't knock it till you try it. Cheerleading just doesn't match up, mainly because there isn't anyone trying to STOP you doing that flip. I'll give you flexibility, you need that, but strength? hardly. demanding? nope. 3 minutes at a time? OH MY GOD! 3???!!! oh wait, soccer players play the whole game, no breaks, football players play for 5-10 (offense or defense, they switch). Hockey players play 30secs - a min at a time BUT WAIT! 30 secs later, they're back out there, taking CHECKS, knocking around a little disk (hand-eye coordination, anyone?). Ever try stopping a 3v1 rush against a good team? Ever played lacrosse? let me sum it up: you've got a stick, there is a net on the end, there is a ball, get ball into opposing goal, use stick to hit, slash, crosscheck, anything you need, to get that ball in their goal. Don't talk about injury threat, 200 pounds HURTS, bad. falling into 4 feet into arms doesn't. Sure there are accidents, but that happens in every sport. Risk of death is not higher for cheerleaders then for other athletes. 200 pounds of muscle hitting the wrong place can mess with heads, spines, and any loose limbs. Cheerleading may be hard, but it's nothing in comparison to all the other true sports out there.

Oh yes and, you are not all stupid, that stereotype comes from the fact that no brains are needed to cheerlead.
Me: nice flip, can you do it with that guy trying to hit you out of midair with his stick? Cheerleading is for whimps.

cheerleading

Cheerleading is an activity that involves tumbling, stunting, and the promotion of spirit. Depending on what skill level your team requires, skills can range from just the ability to smile and yell "go team go," or the ability to do difficult gymnastics and advanced stunting. There are two types of cheerleading:

Sideline cheerleading (your typical football cheerleaders)

Competitive cheerleading (the stuff you see on ESPN)

To understand the definition of cheerleading, you must understand the definition of a sport.

Sport - a physical and athletic activity governed by a set of rules including time and space, engaged in primarily for competition. It can be divided up into three categories:

Game sports (i.e. basketball, football, soccer)
Racing sports (i.e. track, cross country, swimming)
Performance sports (i.e. CHEERLEADING, gymnastics, figure skating)

Competitive cheerleading is a sport that is judged on how well a team can tumble, stunt, stay synchoronized, etc...
Indiana Cheer Elite Allstars are a very talented team that participates in a very difficult sport known as cheerleading.

cheerleading

cheerleading IS a sport!

look, the short skirts are because it's easier for bases to catch flyers. could they do that with long pants on? also, at competition, the judges need to make sure that your leg is straight, or bent, or in the right form, especially during jumps. at my school, we wear leggings at most games, and i still hear a million times a day that cheerleaders are sluts. gymnasts, wrestlers, swimmers, and ice skaters wear tighter and more revealing uniforms, and they are never called whores. the volleyball players at my school wear short shorts, the ones that we wear UNDER our skirts!
cheerleaders compete. even though they do not score, as in basketball or football. they still work so hard for those two minutes on the floor. gymnasts and ice skaters compete based on judging, and if you think those are not sports, you're crazy.
to be a cheerleader, you have to know how to tumble, which takes great strength and a lot of training. cheerleaders also have to stunt-to be a flyer, you have to be extremely flexible and brave! to be a base-well, athletes lift weights, cheerleaders lift athletes! enough said. furthermore, cheerleaders have to memorize countless routines: it does take skill. lastly, jumps. try doing a toe touch and i bet you wouldn't have enough muscle to get your fat ass off the ground.

so next time you think of calling a cheerleader a slut or an attention whore, think again. while i admit that some are, that is NOT because she is a cheerleader. Some people are just that way, but don't stereotype based on one or two people.
