Throck Morton Sign

A medical term used to describe the orientation, as seen on an Xray,of a man's penis with respect to his lower extremity injury. A positive Throck-Morton sign is when the penis points to the side of the injury.

Senior Doctor: Mr. Jones has a femur and tibial fracture of his right leg.

Intern: Incidentally, I note on the x-ray that was taken of his pelvis that his johnson is pointing to the right - the same side as his injuries.

Senior Doctor: That, my young man, is a positive Throck Morton Sign.

Intern: I have so much to learn!

Senior Doctor: Indeed you do, indeed you do.

Verb. Its the word you use to suggest you know what something is.

People always want to know what something they see or experience might be called. It's impressive to have a word that defines the event.

Origins: Smart arsed know-it-alls can be beaten. Invent your own word to describe something and sound like you really know what you're talking about.

For example. If you see clouds hung across a hill top you can be authoritive by proclaiming "That's called a Throsk". or the congealed ketchup round a bottle is called throsk. Perhaps throsking is the mating ritual of the basking shark

Use the word to define any incident, moment or experience to impress your friends.

1. Term in radiology used to describe the likelihood that the direction that the penis is hanging towards is the side of the trauma or injury.
2. Can also be referred to as a positive or negative throckmorton.

positive throckmorton-toward the injury

negative throckmorton - away from the injury

Direction of the dangle points the way to the pain.
