Shortlight

When you are crossing at a traffic light pedestrian crossing with an island in the middle of the crossing, upon reaching the island the crossing indicator turns red.

Past tense: Shortlighted
Present tense: Shortlighting
Future tense: Shortlight

Past tense: Sorry i was late for work, i got shortlighted at Spencer street.
Present tense:Goddammit, it shortlighting again.
Future tense: Careful, that thing might shortlight you
