PIBE

An acronym, short for Play It By Ear. Coined by a very chill California resident, the term is often used by those who are non-committal by nature, by those who want to "play it by ear" but who also don't want to sound like their mothers who use the full phrase. To say you will PIBE attending an event sounds cooler than to say you "will play it by ear." It also sounds less annoying to the person who is inviting the PIBE-r.

"Do you want to come over for dinner Sunday night?" "Yes, but I have to PIBE" ... "Are you going to all three Phish shows?" "I'm gonna PIBE"

Short for the saying "Play it by ear"
If you are non committal about doing something, you pibe it. Can be used in any situation where the term "play it by ear" is used.

We wanted to go boating tomorrow, but the chance of rain is high, so we're going to pibe it.

Or

I'd like to go out for lunch with you, but my morning schedule is jam packed. Let's pibe it!
