So basically its a concept in alot of Sci-fi stuff where alien creatures have something controlling them which stops them from thinking freely or doing anything the Hivemind doesen't want. Basically some powerful creature controlling creatures inferior to it by controlling their brains.

Since Reddit is one of the biggest breeding ground of hiveminds, Bethesda related subreddits —among others— are the natural habitat of this superorganism.
Despite how harmless or hilarious this drones can be, since they are so numerous they can have *serious* repercusions on the market by bolstering Bethesda sales by hundreds of thousands to literal millions of copies, thus fulfilling an essential roll in perpetuating the success of this company.
