FPA (First-Person Animation)
A storytelling format where the entire animated scene is presented from the protagonist’
s point of view, typically showing only their hands or arms while maintaining strict eye-level perspective.
Unlike traditional third-person animation, FPA emphasizes immersion, embodiment, and psychological framing through direct environmental interaction.
Common traits:
• Strict POV camera
• No visible face of the protagonist
• Physical interaction with the environment
• Embodied
sound design (
breathing, cloth movement, impact)
• Emotion conveyed through perspective rather than cutaways
