The “Hustle Muscle.” Built by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division, the SD45 measured 65 feet in length, and had 3,600 horsepower, powered by the 20 cylinder EMD 645E3 prime mover. In total, 1,260 SD45s were built, the first production SD45 delivered being Great Northern 400.
