glass cheque

A Glaswegian term: Describes a special glass bottle, containing Irn-Bru, or other similar soft drink, available in many cornershops in Scotland. The bottle is returnable and currently attracts a 25p refund when you give the bottle back to the shop. Called a cheque as they are often collected and cashed (like a cheque)by students and cheap bastards alike either to buy more Bru, or with enough bottles, some skag.

I'm gonnie cash these glass cheques and get some more Bru and a kebab.

cuquemelle

A word normally reserved for something extraordinary and out of this world. Maybe the most beautiful girl you've ever seen. Or a fantastic ray of sunshine on a dreary, cloudy day. A cuquemelle tends to stop you in your tracks, forget about any problems you have in life and finally ends with you grinning like there is no tomorrow.

It was a cold, blustery monday morning and I was working non-stop in surgery where every patient was either depressed or being difficult or simply both. When my last patient finally left I took out my lunch. I bit into the most delicious sandwich made by the delicate of hands of an angel. It was pure cuquemelle and the nightmare of the morning was but a mere distant memory.
