On March 29, 2020, George was sentenced to spend between 30 and 45 years in prison without the possibility of parole. On July 13, 2020, George's conviction was overturned, and he was freed from prison. He negotiated a plea bargain for his new trial for 3-7 years in prison, though he has yet to be sentenced for this.
