Basically, telling your computer to do stuff using a programming language. As long as the computer understands the code, it will execute the command blindly.

I tried reprogramming Windows and my computer crashed.
I programmed my computer to overclock itself.
I programmed my computer to create and save files on my hard drive. For some reason, it stopped working...

Early Entrance Program

A program hosted by the Robinson Center for Young Scholars at the University of Washington which accepts 16 7th and 8th graders to enter the UW early. Students must go through an one-year intensive transition school (TS) prior to entering the university. Most Early Entrance Program students thrive in the university environment, contrary to popular stereotypes of entering college early.

More colleges need to adopt early entrance programs on the model of the Early Entrance Program.

Euphemism for the mindless infomercials or infotainment that you see on TV in the wee hours of the morning on many cable channels. Often consists of BS about products you wouldn't even THINK of buying.

If you wake up at 6 AM and you want to watch some good film on cable TV, forget it: you'll only see that damn paid programming.

real programmer

some old fart(usually 40-60 years old) that started with programming back in the 50s-60s-70s, and only codes in machine code(or with bin and hexa...and MAYBE Assembly if he's feeling lazy).
they usually hate most of the "new" stuff like IDE, and newer languages...

object-oriented programming

The most overrated and overhyped programming paradigm on earth.

Frequently leads to over-engineering and is at the moment most commonly done using the Java programming language, which has a particularly shitty brand of object-orientation. Other popular object-oriented programming languages include C++ and C#.

Idiot: Man, that's such a hard project. Let's use object-oriented programming to make out life easier.
Rock-star programmer: You're fired.
