It's like a club built on the internet that celebrates a specific topic, except thousands of people join it, and most of them don't even know what the others look like in real life. It also completely destroys your life. Here are some symptoms of a fangirl/fanboy:
You find yourself locked in your room for several days
Your room is suddenly covered in posters
You find yourself reading fanfiction
You realise that you're yelling at someone because they didn't understand your fandom and accidentally insulted it
You notice that you're crying because a relationship you wanted to happen was made impossible because one or more decided to pair up with someone else (please refer to shipping.)
Please, for your own sake, don't join any fandoms. I guarantee that it will destroy your life, then kill you slowly with feels. Then again, you don't really choose the fandom. THE FANDOM CHOOSES YOU, AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

Get the fandom mug.A large group, usually consisting of edgy teenagers and jobless adults, hellbent on taking time out of their lives to diss other fandoms for a number of reason specific to the individual. Yet usually revolves around a single ignorant motivation for doing so. Anti-Fandoms instantly brand people associated with the fandom they are attacking, and believe they are much more mature for disliking a traditional community; however, they come across very childish nowadays.
(It's sad to be so triggered by an association that won't do anything to you if you stay out of their business.)

Anti-Fanboy: "You like anime? You're just a trashy weeaboo. Because ALL anime watchers are OBVIOUSLY weeaboos."
Anti-Fanboy: "You're a furry? Disgusting! You're some stupid freak wanting to bang people in a mascot uniform."
Anti-Fanboy: "You still watch cartoons? You must be some idiotic man child, read up on politics instead. It's is OBVIOUSLY much more healthy. Just look at how intelligent I am."
Anti-Fanboy: "No, I know nothing about these fandoms or have taken any time to do any research of them, but my assumptions are always right and whatever you say is nonsense. Everyone believing I'm a pleb are just stupid fanboys."
-
Normal Person: "These anti-fanboys are just as annoying as the actual fanboys."

"The anti-fandom of 'Harry Potter' are not criticizing the book. They're simply hating on it for a number of inaccurate reasons. Reasons they don't want to take time to research and understand better.

Get the Anti-Fandom mug.Undertale Fandom Syndrome(UFS), is a horrible disease that is founded in major fandoms. First discovered in 2014, it was created in its first stage with the FNAF fandom. It horribly spread when undertale became popular. Common symptoms include: comic dubs, weird fetish art, and annoying obnoxious children/preteens. Unfortunately, UFS has became a parasite that is sent to feed off hosts and cannot be treated or cured. The following fandoms that suffered the same fate include but not excluded: FNAF, Undertale, Cuphead, Bendy and the Ink Machine, Hazbin Hotel, and recently, Friday Night Funkin'.
Person: yo dude have you seen this game called Friday Night Funkin'?
Another person: yeah man that shit is really great!
Person: yeah it is, unfortunately the FNF fandom is making Pico x BF yaoi.
Another person: shit! Another game fell into Undertale Fandom Syndrome

Get the fandom mug.Fandom life is a expression usually used by younger people to describe a lifestyle where spare time is mostly spend on reading books, watching movies and series. A connection to social Networks like tumblr or pinterest is often, if not always present. The person "living the fandom life" is using the expression to show their passion and love for different works.
Leaving much space for interpretation, there is no real measure where the fandom life begins. Some might never count themselves in, some after watching thirty-six TV shows, some after reading one of ten books of a franchise.
