A couple who seems to have a fairy tale romance. Also, both parties involved in the power couple have tremendous influence over people around them because of their devastating good looks* and seemingly perfect relationship with their significant other.

*the most common type of power couple is between a male athlete and an actress and/or singer.

Kevin: Dude, get a load of David Beckham and Posh Spice. They are the epitome of a power couple. They have a tremendous influence over me because of their devastating good looks and seemingly perfect relationship.

medical school couple

The pairing of medical school students in the first week or so of school. These relationships last between either major examinations or 2 weeks or less. Facilitating the carnal needs (ie sex, companionship, etc) as well as study partners and physical study tools, these relationships often result in rotation of female participants between people of PBL or other study groups. These relationships ensure success and survival of first semester of medical school and may continue on after that. These relationships follow the Law of mutual need (“When people of a given group of intellectual status/classification are placed in similar situations, there is assured mutual non-emotional hooking up.”)

My first year of Med School I was part of three medical school couples, one of which the girl had a boyfriend back home. Had i not been with her I would have failed anatomy. I have not talked to her since.

Power Couple

When two individuals have a relationship in which they are constantly looking to improve on each other. They don't take offense to their partners critiquing of there appearance or actions. They're main focus in life is improving themselves as a couple. They put their relationship before everything and strive for perfection. Never letting the other fall behind.

The freakish phenomenon of 2 people intentionally portraying themselves as or otherwise existing as one person. Examples include such local variations as might be seen on your Facebook friends list, i.e. "Jen N Alex" or "Lisa N Dave" although in years past some have made national headlines, like Brangelina and Bennifer. Individually such people are mildly tolerable, however together they are obnoxious.

Referring to an event in which only people with significant others are included and those without are left out of the event. This is commonly used at thanksgiving among relatives.

Grandma: Did you bring home a boyfriend for thanksgiving?

Granddaughter: No. I’m still single Grandma.

Grandma: Couples only. You’re left out.
