AFK normalcy

The situation where people who have excessive screen time per day will get an eye, whilst AFK moments are "normalized" (i.e. happens more frequently and feels less painful). For example, in K-12 school campuses where smartphones must be collected during school hours, which is akcually meant to create conducive learning environments and not to "condition" students for unavoidable AFK moments in the foreseeable future.

At school, we have to hand in our phones, which makes AFK normalcy a real thing—everyone's so used to stepping away from their screens that it hardly bothers us anymore!

Groups or communities, such as the Amish or Baduy, that consciously choose to go AFK from modern technology and societal norms, opting for a lifestyle that embraces simplicity and traditional values. The term "AFK" (Away From sKreen) reflects their decision to step away from contemporary conveniences.

The AFK tribe lives by their own rules, prioritizing community and nature over the constant buzz of technology that defines modern life.

AFK-er

An AFK-er (pronounced "AY-eff-KAY-er") is a person currently experiencing AFK moments, i.e. the inability to have screen time to watch YouTube. There are certain risk factors of being an AFK-er, e.g. being born into an AFK tribe like the Amish or Baduy tribe. In addition to that, being of young age (read: still being a child) also increases your risk of being an AFK-er due to external factors like screen time limits imposed by parents.

Ever since his family moved to the countryside, Jake has turned into a total AFK-er—no YouTube and no gaming, just chores all day!

A prolonged and unexplained silence in a coversation, esp via instant messaging, following a question in which the user wants to DODGE.

James: Hey do you want to volunteer with us? You have to start at 8am.

When a person online goes afk without warning or provocation. Usually to the utter dispair of whoever he/she is interacting with online (note screams of frustration) and often frequently.

rage afk

When a player gets so mad because they get killed or die too many times in an online video game, they leave the keyboard (afk, Away From Keyboard) People do this because they either dont want to lose experience points, get a leavers mark, a loss, or some other degrading mark.

Team player: oh dude, this guy has gone rage afk. how do we win now?

Enemy: haha, i made that noob rage afk!
