Someone who's a poser and hangs out with his poser friends and does poser stuff such as listening to Coldplay.

The aforementioned poser may also be constantly listening to music with his earbuds, and reply to you with one word when you attempt to make conversation.

Alec: Hey man! You know that movie we watched in class? Pretty good movie, eh?
John: *takes out one earbud* Huh?
Alec: That movie we watched in class was pretty good, don't you think?
John: Yea. *puts earbud back in his ear*

A tool is one of those stupid assholes at parties who does nothing but try to bang everything he sees because he thinks he's wonderful. This is typically caused by The small amount of muscle definition he has managed to obtain during his time away from being an alcoholic. He is cocky, but deep down, he knows he is pathetic.

A tool will usually say things like "hey sweetheart, check out my cross tattoo," or "I wish I could've been here sooner, but I was working out."

The guy who smashes beer cans on his head is such a fucking tool.

The guy who awkwardly screams "HEYYYY" when someone enters a room is a tool.

The guy with a cross tattoo but holds no actual biblical knowledge is a tool.

Tool

A guy who thinks he is the shit. Spends time with other tools, of which he may call his "bros", "homies" etc., and acts like he is the most popular guy he knows. This tool will objectify women, and may refer to girls as "sexy" when talking to them, but as "a hot piece of ass" or "his bitch" when talking about them to his friends. Doesn't usually date girls, just hooks up with them.
