A hard google is when google itself doesnt instantly answer your question. If you have to leave the results and go to a wiki page or another site, your search is now a hard google.
This is the next stage after a soft google

When you get a pain in your stomach from the fear of your Google auto complete revealing something terrible that you have Googled before while someone watches you type.

My step mom asked me to look up a Thai restaurant near us, as soon as i typed in Thai i got a really bad case of Google Gut, because i didnt know what the auto search was going to bring up.

Humorous term to describe where you "publicly" solicit the knowledge ("Excuse me, everyone --- do any of you happen to know anything about ___?", or, ""Hey, Folks --- are any of you familiar with the technical properties of ___?") of anyone within yelling-distance about a particular question or problem that you encounter at that time and place.

Doing a bystander Google-search can yield surprising results --- more than once I have gotten out of a perplexing dilemma in this way.
