Usually stuck up and snobby, and most are rich and attend private schools. They are boy crazy, and a majority of them are not very nice. They look down upon us tomboy/goth types, and assume we are jealous of them simply because we dislike them. This is not true in any way imaginable. We do not envy them to any extent whatsoever, and dislike them due to their constant squealings and words used over and over, such as "like", "OHMIGOSH!", and so on. I am a tomboy/goth and a poet, and am looked down upon by their type because of that. So, I ask thou, preps of the world, why is it that thou must make us feel lower than the ground we walk upon? Why is it that thou must taunt and abuse us?
I detest these types more than anyone on Earth can imagine. And for the last time, to those of you who think we envy them: We are not demons. We are different, and should not be looked down upon by these girls because of it.

origionaly rich white boys or girls from the suburbs are called preps. They have rich parents and the wear alot of polo ralph lauren and go to rich ivy league schools.but some how the word prep in miami means cubans that wanna be white that dress like prettyboys.

A person who sacrifices everything that makes them Themselves so that other people will like them. They aren't always douchebags but ALOT of them are. Only the more posery preps wear Abercrombie(Zombie) and Hollister. Even when you say they don't you're wrong because the preps DO make fun of other people, (punk, goth, nerd, geek, normie) for not wearing 60$ jeans. They use words like "Krunk" and "Dawg" because MTV tells them to. Preps almost always have inflated egos, They will do things like threaten a passive for listening to Rock who is about 8" taller than them. They will ridicule people who listen to Metal and rock (System of a down, RAGE, Deicide, Jimi Hendrix, HIM,Clash, MSI) and call them losers for not buying "Young Jeezys" new cd. I usually just try to avoid them but their EVERYWHERE. If your Girlfriend comes back to your place with a pait of ripped jeans for you that she bought for 69.99$ at Hollister, then you might have to put the bitch down.
Prep: "Hey Jessie, look at that loser listening to that crap System of a Down. What a goth. We should make fun of him for standing there, listening to that stuff. MTV never liked it so It must be Dumb!"

A lot of people don't seem to understand the meaning of 'prep'. See, I went to a Country Day school for 6 years, and I know what a prep is. They are NOT slutty. In fact, they wear hardly any makeup at all, and it is very tastefully done because they go to the MAC counter at Neimans so the makeup ladies can show them how it's done. They are bitchy to other cliques because they keep getting bitch-slapped by the ghetto clique, the slutty clique, the emo/goth/scene/punk whatever clique, and many more. They do not swear or yell or get in physical fights. They do not pay much attention to people who do not dress in their uniform: Paige, Frankie B, Sevens, Polo, Lacoste, RL, Citizens of Humanity, Juicy, rock n republic, and basically anything that sells at Neiman Marcus, Saks, or Nordstrom (Nordy's). They do not wear Abercrombie, which is the equivalent of the Preppy 'Gap'. They take school extremely seriously and if they get in trouble or don't get a good grade their parent/s put in a complaint to the Dean, who ahppens to be a golfing buddy. Preps often go on group vacations to places like Cancun and Cabo, where they have summer homes. The truth is, everyone dissing preps for being conformist is waay more of a conformist themselves, because they obviously don't have enough going on not to spend all their time putting down a group with more money, more style, and more taste than them. I love GO PREPS

Contrary to popular belief preps are NOT the stereotypical Abercrombie & Fitch wearing skanks the media projects.
Preps are traditionally upper class suburban and/or metropolitan whites born with money. The term is usually used towards WASPs. More typically, relating to Northern upper class families, they tend to be be from older families, and will be connected to one another. The term "prep" comes from the word "preparatory" seeing as how these kids usually go to elite and private "prep" schools (Windsor, Milton, etc).
Fashion wise, being preppy does not indicate you are a person of high fashion and teen trends. Prep-wear is traditional, classy, conservative wear that are baseline semi formal. Typical prep designers would be Lacoste, Polo Ralph Lauren, Vera Bradley and J. Crew.
Typical preppy wear would be a buttoned up oxford shirt, khaki shorts, and loafers. A girl would throw in the small pearl earrings and modest headband.h
Preps indulge in activities such as golfing, playing tennis, crew, lacrosse, sailing and going to summer houses.
Summer houses are usually on expensive pieces of land, and are really only used for vacations. Housing spots would include places like The Hamptons, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Cape Cod, and Newport.
