Falls short of amazing. Someone who is "amaze" is confused about what to do, which direction to go, hence, a maze.
Get busy, put some "zing" in your step, you must figure out the maze to become amazing!

Wow, Buddy is amaze. I'm befuddled by his lack of sense and direction. If he figures out his place in the world that would be amazing!

Term used to express great pleasure or wonder at almost anything.

It is generally used to convey a postive emotions in reaction to a story. The use of the term was popularised by the late Chris Dunford.
