The Assassins' enemy are the Templars, and the two groups quarrel constantly. Altair starts off as a Master Assassin, but soon loses all of his ranks after failing a mission. His new goal in the game is to regain that rank by preforming assassinations, doing missions, etc. There are two sequels. The third installment in the series (Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood) comes out Nov. 16, 2010.
