It was published from 1932 until the end of 2019.3 Originally distributed at supermarkets, it was one of the "Seven Sisters," a group of seven traditional "women's service" magazines centered on household issues, along with Ladies' Home Journal, McCall's, Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman's Day, and Redbook

Meredith Corp. announced Wednesday that it will cease publication of its venerable Family Circle magazine after the December 2019 issue.

Launched in 1932, the magazine was was acquired by Des Moines-based Meredith in 2005 from publishing house Gruner + Jahr USA. Meredith said Family Circle, published monthly, had a circulation of 4 million.

After the final issue, customers who still have active Family Circle subscriptions will receive another Meredith magazine.
