Metronome Dance

The act of waving one or two fingers and your head side to side to the rhythm of music, in a metronome-like manner. This dance is usually done by nerds who can't dance or people who just don't feel like getting down. Many nerds who do this dance, usually do it to J-Rock, J-pop, Weird Al, or some other nerdy music such as Banana Phone.

All the nerds in the classroom started to do the Metronome Dance when the teacher turned on some Weird Al Yankovic polka crap.

derek dancing

A dance, usually performed by young men, of which they sway their pointing index fingers from side to side whilst looking up to their top right.

Girl: "John said he was only skipping the gym tonight because he would make up for it on the dance floor... but he is just derek dancing!!!"

Emma: "The guy by the bar is good looking, I'm going to ask him out."
Alice: "Hold that thought. He just started derek dancing."

A.D.D. Dance

A dance commonly done by kids with A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. The dance is done by lifting a shoulder, dropping it down, then moving your head side to side.

My friend did the A.D.D. dance while walking towards me.

Dance Spank

Slapping wrist action (usually with some minor hip thrusts) used while dancing, the "spank" is typically in the air, though in some instances contact with a partner is made. Used to simulate coitus, especially "doggy-style."

Girl 1: Did you see that?
Girl 2: What?
Girl 1: When Bev wasn't looking Bob got behind her and gave her a dance spank.
Girl 2: You know she loved it!
Girl 1: Yaaa!

A phrase used following a put down (or similar instance) which challenges the second party to respond in kind. Taken from the world of competitive dance, but not limited to that passtime.
