owesome

For children, this is an adjective used to describe the child for making a good grade in school. On a report card, if they received an "O" for Outstanding, rather than an "A", they are described as 'owesome'.

As a more mature word, this adjective is used to describe something so awesome, it makes you want to "oh!" (orgasm).

"Wow, Johnny got an 'A' for 'awesome', and his little sister got an 'O' for.... 'owesome'."

"Oh my God, Tomas was so owesome last night..."

"Wow, look at her owesome body!"

Owl

A relatively large bird that goes "Hoo" alot and can turn it's head 180 degrees. They live in the forest, eat mice, and are also capable of making the really freaky noises at night.

Owl:"Hoo! Ho-Hoo! Hoooo!"

Hoisted by my own petard

To be foiled by your own advantage(i.e., explosives prematurely explode).

The history of the phrase comes from the uses of a petard in a seige (a petard is a volitile early explosive capable of bringing down castle walls). To be hoisted is to be lifted or sent up, which is generally what would happen to you if you were near a petard when it goes off (and that's if you got off lucky).

The term, "Hoisted on my own petard" is incorrect (unless of course you were pulled up while on a petard, but that'd be clinicly stupid) in that the meaning is altered. This bastardization is built upon the assumtion that a petard is a spear.

Sergeant- "Did you plant all the claymores Corporal Johnson?"
Corporal- "Yes sir."
Sergeant- "Where did you plant them."
Corporal- *Looks around shiftily* "Ummmm..."
Sergeant- "You don't know do you?"
Corporal- "No."
Sergeant- "Hoisted by my own petard."

plank owner

Term given to a crewmember of the original crew of a newly commissioned ship. Implies that a crew member was around when the ship was being built and commissioned and therefore has bragging rights to the ownership of one of the deck planks in the main deck.

Avast dog fornicator, for it is I, poodle boy Rumsfeld, plank owner of my newly commissioned ship USS SHITSANDWICH, the great shit lollipop, Iraq.

Owl City

Owl City is brilliant, yet as soon as the radio kicks in, an artist begins to lose his fans. Prime example: Owl City. Don't get me wrong, Owl City is fantastic. The only problem with Owl City is the song. It was so good, the radio had to play it again and again until you couldn't stand it, as if it was going to become the source of your migraines. Now it's at the bottom of my list and I try to stay away from listening to it. Thank the radio for ruining such brilliance that used to be appealing to the masses.

Once I heard Owl City on the radio, I heard it ten more times on the same station that same day.
