Australian slang - often used to express discontent/disbelief. Can technically be negative or positive, but is mostly used negatively.

"Yeah, I got a detention for wearing the wrong socks."
"Far out, I hate this school."

Costello Cut-out

Similar to an "Irish Exit", the Costello Cut-out involves leaving a party or social gathering without saying goodbye, but shuffling your feet on the way out.

Gary : Hey where did Johnny Boy go?
Mike : I don't know, he was just here laughing and having fun. Then he disappeared.

--30 minutes later--
Gary : I think he gave us the Costello Cut-out.
Mike : Yea, shuffled right out on us.

A period of time spent doing nothing other than lazing on the sofa eating and drinking unhealthily whilst watching non-educational tv programmes. Males who are manking out often have one hand down their pants for the purpose of a general rummage, whereas females are more likely to be cocooned nice and quietly under a blanket.
