Painting

As a noun: A bunch of color (usually paint) applied onto a canvas (which resembles a white, thick piece of fabric attached to a frame). Depending on the skill of the artist and/or the taste of the viewer, it can be labeled as 'art'... Or an over-priced piece of wood, fabric, and paint.

Verb: The act of applying color (usually paint by the use of a brush) over the canvas.

Noun: The Mona Lisa is a painting which became famous because someone stole it... If you've ever been to the museum, you can see WHY it was stolen. (It's the ONLY painting that could possibly fit through the doorway. The other paintings are HUGE.)

Verb: Person A: What the hell are you doing?
Person B: Painting.
Person A: ... (Does dumping buckets of paint on a canvas count as 'painting'?)

Painting her nails

A common euphemism a girl may use for the act of fingering herself. Similarly, "painting her nails red" can sometimes refer to a girl fingering said cooter whilst she is menstruating.

guy #1: "So what's Sally up to tonight? Is she gonna chill with us?"
guy #2: "She said she's just staying in and painting her nails tonight. How fuckin' boring is that."

Face Painting

Face Painting (also referred to as 'MySpin') is internet slang for the practice of sprinkling a social networking profile with embellishments, fantasy, and satire, often with humorous or political intentions. Face painters play with the truthiness of identity by conducting a campaign of misinformation to protect their true identity.

Face Painting is closely related to Google Bombing

The term was coined in 2007 in the wake of the Facebook Beacon backlash and the Soble scandal. Face painters aim to introduce a bit of noise and chaos back into the system, clearing some space for true privacy, and enabling a form of direct political action that does not fall victim to Sunstein's critique of homogeneous, disjoint social sub-networks on the internet.

We spent the evening face painting our Facebook profiles.
