a very intelligent person who often has no street smarts. The stereotype of a nerd has been a sweater vest-wearing, bespectacled, braces-clad, person with pocket protectors and plays video games (ex: Halo). May also spend large amounts on computer and like watching Monty Python. Nerds are different from geeks, in that geeks are not necessarily smart but still act semi-repulsively. With the huge influx of smart Asians, nerds are slowly becoming extinct.

Nerd are people who concerned with mainly things seen as 'uncool' by the general populace. Being extraordinarily tech-savvy, skilled at video games or role-playing games, very well informed in the maths or sciences, are some of the main characteristics. They are 'the smart ones.'
But those of you familiar with the theory of multiple intelligence should know that while nerds may be smart in some regions, their defining feature is being socially 'stupid.' They cannot interact well with anyone, often not with other nerds. This does not make them bad people, nor good. It just means they are not interpersonally intelligent. In some cases, interpersonal intelligence is more useful than technical, so shut up about being proud of nerdiness!
If you are socially inept, it does not mean you are a nerd. Likewise, you can be intelligent and like uncool things but it does not mean you are a nerd. Any definition that says nerds can have social lives and lots of friends and can be popular- they are wrong. Those are not nerds. Those are smart people who are obviously socially intelligent. A nerd requires BOTH aspects of 'uncool' interests AND a lack of interactive skills.

people that think when people make fun of they are actually scared when infact we're not. They are the social outcasts that think they will one day change the world when we already have everything we need. They are often seen talking to each other with their shirts tucked in and pants pulled all the way up talking about world of warcraft or any other game that's not call of duty. Thinks they have friends that aren't nerds when infact people are just trying to be nice because they feel bad. Their shyness often contributes to having no social life.
I am not a nerd but i am smart. I do wear glasses but i don't play online pc games and i am not obsessed with working. Infact i might be the laziest person you could meet with periods of actually getting something done. I like sexy girls and im popular. And i get more than 1 hug a day and it's not from nerdy chicks but females with nice bodies and im not lying.
