A Karen is a designation given to a racist white woman who uses her privilege to hinder, oppress, or inconvenience a black individual. They have a sense of entitlement and a superiority complex that they conjure to place black people in dangerous situations often by the use of lying, police, lying to the police etc. This being said, when you constantly label people as Karens without it dealing with their racist actions to leverage themselves against black people, you dilute and take away the focus from the very real issues that black people face in day to day situations. This is sad because this same appropriation of the term and diverting the true meaning of the term seems exactly like something that a Karen would do!
Black man: A Karen almost got me locked up today.
Friend: That's terrible! What happened?
Black man: While I was moving into my nice new house earlier today she called the police on me and lied to them. She took it upon herself to inform them that a black man was robbing the place. She must not have wanted me as a neighbor or she may have been in disbelief that a black person could afford a house that was bigger than hers.
Friend: Wow that's crazy.
Black man: Yeah. The police arrived in 2 minutes flat!
Friend: That's terrible! What happened?

Get the Karenmug. Upper middle class conservative white woman from Texas who joins the neighborhood app just so she can keep her nose in everyones business. Karen’s are extremely uppity and entitled they speak down to food workers and house keepers. They expect everyone to have the same belief system as them and they are racist. You’ll catch a Karen triple locking her car every time she goes out to run errands because she perceives diversity as meaning “it’s a bad neighborhood”. She’s completely materialistic likely over weight and over protective of her stuff. She is wasteful and contributes to the mass amounts of plastic clogging up our oceans. She thinks dogs are all dirty and she has no sense of humor. Karen’s will nit pick, micro manage and be extremely passive aggressive. They demand special treatment and understanding yet they are always willing to cross your boundaries and disrespect you. Karen’s are OCD about the most tedious , minuscule things like how to fold a washcloth or a pair of underwear.

Get the K-pop Karenmug. Karen is a commonly known and used word among young people in english speaking countries(primarily the USA & Canada. The name Karen evokes thoughts of repeated entitlement among middle to upper aged women (although occasionally including people as young as early to mid 20s). Karen, as a term, a name and a lifestyle is known and used enough to warrant entire communities to spring up calling out one time freak outs and repeat offenses by these unwarrantedly rude and obnoxious members of society, the most well known of which being r/EntitledKarens on Reddit. Karens will also often play the victim card when called out, either claiming the person they were harassing was doing something to them or desperately seeking the approval of other Karens on facebook for their actions, hoping that the sheer amount of entitled screaming in response to said calling out will get the innocent fast food worker to either get fired or become obedient to what they want. This my friends, is the classic Karen.
