The blanket assertion that any claim associated with parascience—fields like parapsychology, telepathy, astral projection, or spiritual experience—is automatically false. The fallacy lies in treating "outside mainstream science" as synonymous with "false." But parascience includes phenomena that may be real but not yet scientifically explained, experiences that are real as experiences even if their interpretation is debated, and claims that may eventually be incorporated into expanded scientific frameworks. The label "parascience" describes relationship to current scientific consensus, not truth value. Assuming it equals false is assuming current science is complete—which is itself unscientific.
Parascience Equals False Fallacy "I shared my experience of what felt like communication with a deceased family member. Response: 'That's parascience, so it's not real.' That's Parascience Equals False Fallacy. The experience was real to me; what it means is open to interpretation. Dismissing it because it doesn't fit current science is confusing the map for the territory. Science changes; experiences don't disappear just because they're not yet explained."

The rhetorical move of accusing someone of being into "parascience" as a way of dismissing their experiences, beliefs, or claims without engagement. The accusation positions the target as credulous, unscientific, or mentally unstable. The fallacy lies in using the accusation itself as the argument—as if labeling something "parascience" does the work of refutation. It's a conversation-ender that allows the accuser to feel superior without having to engage the actual phenomena or experiences.
"I tried to explain my meditation experiences and the sense of connection I feel. Response: 'Oh, you're into all that parascience stuff.' That's Parascience Accusation Fallacy—using the label to dismiss, not engaging what I actually said. My experiences are real to me; calling them 'parascience' doesn't make them disappear. It just shows you're not interested in understanding."

Paris

Paris is an internet-coined aesthetic and lifestyle archetype describing a lean, understated male beauty standard associated with the cultural mythology surrounding Francisco Lachowski. The term is commonly linked to images and videos from the June 25, 2016 Paris Fashion Week shows, where Lachowski was filmed walking through the streets of Paris surrounded by fans seeking photographs. These moments circulated widely online and became informally known as “Chico in Paris.”
In online aesthetics and “looksmaxxing” communities, Paris came to represent more than the location itself. It refers to a combination of physical appearance, demeanor, and lifestyle associated with those images: a lean physique, sharp facial structure, effortless style, and calm social confidence within an artistic urban setting.
The concept draws heavily from candid footage of Lachowski interacting with crowds outside fashion venues, appearing relaxed while attracting attention from fans and photographers. Within internet subcultures, reaching a “Paris state” refers to achieving the physical and aesthetic conditions linked to this archetype, often characterized by a lean build, defined jawline and cheekbones, natural grooming, and understated fashion. Over time, “Paris” became shorthand for this aesthetic ideal rather than the literal city.
The jaw, the hunter eyes, the hollow cheeks and the outfit? He must have reached Paris.

Paris Syndrome

Also known as Alexandra's Affliction or Hugo Psychosis, this is a disease affecting Hugonuts, and a catalyst for many Deirty Girls, named after Alexandra Paris, a well known writer of NSFW Hugo Weaving fanfiction. It causes them to develop extremely unhinged, 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 behavior. (yes, you HAVE to say freaky like that)
Symptoms include at least two of the following. Most people affected by Paris Syndrome do not experience every side effect
1. Foot fetish
2. Sexual attraction to figurines
3. Strong craving for black liquids
4. An obsession with a place known as Wordington, insisting that Agent Smith lives there
5. Autoandrophilia
