it’s when you can’t escape from the own sadness in your mind that it becomes so strong, that your body learns to block out the pain and you can’t feel it any more. you become so numb. this can also lead into self harm. like cutting to get a feeling in your body. or killing yourself because you’ve just blocked up so much pain that your body can’t handle it any more, and one day it just all comes back and you don’t know how to cope.

Depression

Depression to me is the feeling of hopelessness. The feeling that no matter what you do or say it is never good enough. Objecting yourself to self doubt and second guessing every decision you make. Every moment you are on the verge of tears, if someone says hello or asks how you are, it's in that split second you start to speak that you shut down. Mind, body and soul shut down to protect yourself from breaking. Showing everyone around you how weak you are. A song on the radio that you love causes you pain to hear. Crying so hard and long that you can't breathe anymore. Looking at your loved ones who are concerned and telling them it is just a bad day you will be okay, knowing that this is just one of many but you hold your head up high so as not to ruin your relationships.

I shut down at work because my depression snuck in and caused me to feel horrible about myself.

Depression

Depression is like you're living in hell, Where nobody cares about you and you just feel worthless, useless, lonely... I've experienced this before since I spent almost all my life in depression. Some people think about commiting suicide when they're in depression, But remember, suicide is never the answer. The only words I can describe depression is like flying up high in the sky and all of a sudden you fall down, onto the ground that's dark and lonely, and while you sit there in the dark everybody else is flying around, forgetting you even exist in this hell cruel world, you suddenly become sad, thinking about life and shouting "WHY?!?!?!"....When nobody can hear you. You feel the need to cry in crowded places, You sometimes cut yourself, and wear long sleeves in the middle of summer. You let everybody judge you since you don't even care about yourself anymore. You give up on things quickly thinking you already lost at this game. Sometimes you don't see but there are a lot of people who care about you, and will give up their life for you, all you need to do is open your eyes.
