Food Couponiac

A person who is manic about using coupons for the most possible number of everyday food purchases as possible. Chances are that if you want to do anything involving eating and the exchange of money, a food couponiac has a way to do it for less. A good way to identify a food couponiac is if this person has not only told you about how and when to find the ‘best deals,’ but will also attempt to get you to sign up at some obscure coupon site in the hopes that they might get some kind of bonus ‘referral’ coupon. Depending on how you value your time, there is a fine line between the money saved by using these coupons, and the time spent waiting for the food couponiac to find the appropriate coupon for the next act of consumption. While you may want to eat at a specific place, ‘Option A,’ if the food couponiac doesn’t have a deal for that place, they will insist on going to a place where they can use one of their most prized possessions instead, ‘Option B.’

I was in the mood for Mexican food for lunch, but Jonathan, being the food couponiac he is, could only find a coupon for a Thai place, so of course we went there. If only I'd signed up at the site he told me about, I might have had my own coupon for the place I actually wanted to eat at.

strange-food

strange-food is the equivalent to an R-rating for food. It is uncertain what is inside but anything is possible. Strange-food is any food item that 1 discovers in which they had no part in the acquiring or preparing of the food. When 1 does not know the story behind how said food arrived at its current location, it is labeled as strange-food. the label, strange-food, warns all parties involved that this food is a wild card, there are unaccounted variables....and that this food is being commandeered and taken to a safe place for consumption.

the moment someone finishes their food, they usually offer the leftovers to whoever is near. in the event that nobody takes it but the owner is finished with it, it becomes Strange-Food.

man, i had some strange-pizza last night. i saw the papa john's box and was like "no way" so i opened it up to find 4 slices left, and it was still kinda warm! the bread sticks weren't even touched! i love strange-food. oh what's that??you're afraid someone poisoned the food before they left it, you have fear of this food..ok...why don't you go pray to Tinkerbell for protection while i smash this perfectly good apple. all i see is 2 hungry people, 1 is afraid and hungry, the other is happy and full. do the math.

sympathy food

Food received by the family of a recently divorced relative. This food is usually from friends and family who try to help the family through their hard time with the help of pies and precooked dinners.

After Grandma died our refridgerator was stuffed with sympathy food a pie from my aunt, muffins from church my mom's church group and an entire precooked dinner from my uncle.
