Commonly used by members of a bureaucracy such as health insurance or an I.T. department to obfuscate the fact that they do not know what they are talking about and just want to move on to the next request in hopes that it will be an easy task that they know how to do.

I tried getting a replacement for my slow-ass workstation, but the I.T. duder gave me some officialistic statement and sent me on a red-taped snipe hunt.
