Lighting a Match

Used to describe something or someone who is simple and authentic, like someone who prefers using a match to a lighter. IE: Going to farmers markets, paying in cash, going on walks, driving stick, outgoing, likes to try new places, has a favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant, cooking eggs, etc

Wow Jane just walked all the way to the farmers market on the other side of town to buy some organic eggs in cash, that’s so lighting a match.

Pulling a Matt

When a conversation is toxic, negative, and unproductive, but someone interjects with a well-timed question that disrupts the cycle and redirects the discussion toward a more constructive path. However, this shift often frustrates or even angers those who were invested in keeping the conversation toxic, as it derails their attempt to fuel negativity.

Person A: "Steve is so annoying."
Person B: "I agree, he should come off his high horse."
Matt: "Hey guys, does anyone know the answer to this question. How do I go about..."
Person A: (whispers) "There he goes "pulling a Matt" again."

when an individual constantly blames the playing equipment (handles too wet, table not calibrated, lighting not adequate) and consistently fails to perform under pressure and is overall delusional about his capacities in everything in life in general and in baby foot specifically.
