Unc status

Unc status refers to the slang term, unc, which is short for uncle. You typically refer to someone as unc when they are the brother of one’s father or mother, or more commonly when they are an older male mentor/role model. Achieving “unc status”, essentially means that you have fulfilled at least one of those two criterion within someone else’s life.

Person 1: You know man, my oldest brother’s old time mentor has really been helping me out lately. He helped me get in the gym, find a job, and is helping me fix up my car!
Person 2: Now that man has officially achieved unc status.

To be an OG or Old Head. Unc status is typically corralled with doing actions that an older person would do such as saying”back in my day” or groaning when sitting down. There are other alternative definitions and signs that you have reached unc status but signs can vary from person to person.
