A word that was once originally cool, a shortened form of swagger, or a meter of one's "coolness." This was, of course until it was blatantly overused by 14-year old girls thinking they are cool by overusing the word "swag." It is best used only once a week, or else people think you are a fag from saying "swag" too much.
Random girl: Hey Jessica those are some pretty cool shoes!
Jessica: Oh yeah. Swag.
Random girl: That doesn't even make sense...

Stuff/Shit We All Get - Relating to the trade show convention industry, where exhibitors hand out "free stuff" to visitors. Most of the time these items are purely promotional materials, and are fairly worthless. ie. pencils, mugs, and mouse pads.
SWAG always has the company name, logo, slogan, product, service, and contact information clearly printed somewhere on the item/s.
Some convention goers have made a hobby of collecting as much swag as possible, and compete with others at the show.

- "The online gaming booth is handing out swag demo disks."
- "That beats my swag bag of stationary!"

Stolen goods. I´ve just come across this word in a book called "Donnie Brasco" by Joseph D. Pistone.

SWAG is not a word. It is an acronym which stands for Stuff We All Get. Typically used to describe cheap merchandise given out freely by radio stations; bumper stickers, t-shirts, key chains. Nothing anyone would pay for. Also common among the drug culture in reference to common, low grade marijuana.
Variation: SH.W.A.G in which case the first word "Stuff" is replaced with the word "SHIT".

The local radio station is passing out the same, lame SWAG at the concert while all the pot heads were smoking their usual Mexican swag (shwag).
