Destination hunger

When you can't stop thinking about visiting a specific location, and you feel this rumbling, you have awoken your destination hunger. This is very common (and more powerful) for destinations you have previously visited. The only known relief is to quench your hunger.

I saw a picture of my favorite place on earth, and I fell from my chair when my destination hunger hit me like a freight train.

Destinationist

A person or family on vacation so focused on itinerary or the actual destination that they become oblivious to anything on the way or outside of the actual destination.

A vacationist that doesn't take time to relax or involve himself with other activities outside of his actual destination.

A person that refuses to patronize anyone or anyplace besides common franchises or corporations.

Bob and his family are such destinationists. They totally missed out on all the great scenery on their trip to Santa Monica. They should have taken Route 66.
